WINTER PLAY
The Un-Common Theatre Company is thrilled to announce auditions for our Winter Play of Almost, Maine, by John Cariani.
Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend – almost – in this delightful midwinter night’s dream. “ALMOST, MAINE is a series of nine amiably absurdist vignettes about love, with a touch of good-natured magic realism…witty, romantic, unsentimental. Auditions for students in grades 7 though 12 will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 beginning at 10:00 AM BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To make your appointment please fill out your audition form by clicking on the button below. There will be a section on the online form to indicate if you are in our current production of Matilda so we can secure your audition at a time that will not conflict with rehearsal. Please allow 2-3 days to receive your reply.

For all roles, you will be sent a list of monologues. Please choose one and be prepared to act out one scene of your choosing.
Rehearsals are scheduled on Sunday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:00 pm in Foxboro. The first rehearsal is Sunday, December 1st at 6:30 pm. Not all cast members will be required to be at all rehearsals. A rehearsal schedule will be made once the show is cast. Extra nights may be added as the show nears production week. Cast members are allowed 3 absences only, none the two weeks prior to the show. Participation in Un-Common’s upcoming production of Footloose is NOT considered to be a conflict.
The production will take place at the South Foxboro Community Center in Foxboro January 24-26, 2020.
Production Fee:$150 per cast member.
