AUDITIONS FOR MOANA JR.

The Un-Common Theatre Company is thrilled to announce auditions for our 2022 Young Performers Production of Disney’s Moana JR.

Disney’s Moana JR. is a musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life onstage. Moana JR. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.”

This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.

Auditions for students in Grades 1 through 6 will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To make your appointment please fill out your audition form by clicking here. Please allow 2-3 days  to receive your reply

In our ongoing effort to reduce COVID-19 transmission and to keep everyone as safe as possible, all participants age 12 and over will be required to be fully vaccinated and show proof of such at the audition check-in table. We encourage all participants under age 12 to receive at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine prior to auditions on December 11, 2021. Cast members under age 12 must show proof of having received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on or before the start of weekly rehearsals on January 4, 2022. In order to continue as a cast member for Moana JR, participants under age 12 will need to have received (and show proof of) two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine no later than January 25, 2022. If the cast member is not fully vaccinated by the requested date, we will unfortunately have to dismiss them from the show. In addition, we will be requiring that everyone in the audition building (auditioners and those accompanying them) to wear a mask. Auditioners will be able to remove their masks when instructed (if comfortable) during the actual audition. At this time we anticipate masking during rehearsals, but will continually monitor guidance from the CDC and the state of Massachusetts and update our policies as needed.
